12 Noon - JACOB SCOTT
From the moment the gates open you’ll be tempted to get your groove on and get dancing with Jacob Scott, a smash hit from the Katikati Street Party.
Jacob pulls timeless music back into the present day with his energetic and soulful delivery of carefully curated tunes all the way back from the 1940s to the present day. Drawing on a range of inspiration from the greats, from Louis Armstrong to Etta James, Johnny Cash to Jimi Hendrix, right up to more recent music like MGMT and Childish Gambino, Jacob Scott creates a melting pot of diversity under the umbrella of his own sound to create a truly original and invigorating take on acoustic solo performance.

2.20pm: MIDNIGHT FIZZ
Next up is Midnight Fizz, a group of passionate and funky musicians who agree nothing beats the feeling of performing live on stage.
The Tauranga-based covers band, made up of six members, prides themselves on being a party band and getting people up on their feet. The band loves playing a wide range of music, from rock to county, funk/soul and of course all the classic sing-alongs in between.

4.30pm - 6pm: THE BLACK SEEDS
The festival’s main act, The Black Seeds hit the stage at 4.30pm and the reggae-inspired band will be rocking the dancefloor with a mixture of big beat funk, dub, afro music, pop, rock, soul, and roots reggae.
Over the past two decades, The Black Seeds have taken their boundary-crossing reggae fusion to the world. Described by Clash Music as “one of the best live reggae acts on the planet”, the band have earned a reputation for rocking dancefloors around the world. With numerous sold-out tours behind them, and performances at the world’s leading festivals, The Black Seeds eight-piece live show brings raw energy and good vibes wherever they go. Firmly rooted in the bass-heavy Jamaican sounds that inspired the birth of the band, since 1998 The Black Seeds’ have continued to push the boundaries of reggae without compromising the music’s heart. Seamlessly blending funk, soul, dub and Afrobeat into their reggae foundation, along with their own South Pacific influences, the result is a unique sound that stays true to the bands roots. With over 63 million Spotify streams since 2015, their music continues to connect with audiences young and old at home and around the world. |
COOKING DEMONSTRATIONS
This year Brad King, Head Chef at Falls Retreat in the Karangahake Gorge, will be cooking up a storm in the Kitchen Marquee, demonstrating how to create four delicious avocado-inspired dishes.
Brad is a passionate and creative chef, with over 10 years experience of international cuisine. Brad completed a Certificate in Professional Cookery at Waikato Polytechnic followed by an apprenticeship at Tables on the River and ten years working overseas. In 2011 he opened his own restaurant located on his lifestyle property - The Falls Retreat. The Falls Retreat has a “paddock to plate” ethos and the menu focuses on seasonality and sustainability. Brad's career highlights include Beef & Lamb Ambassador Chef 2015, Beef & Lamb Excellence Award 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, Winner of Monteith’s Wild Food Challenge 2010 and Runner up of Monteith’s Wild Food Challenge 2009. |
CHILDREN'S ATTRACTIONS
Gudrun from Party in the Bay will be face-painting both the young (and the young at heart) with bright, colorful and fun designs – including fun avocado designs.
Fun giant games including Connect 4, Jenga and Cornhole will keep the kids entertained and Circus in a Flash will inspire kids to join the circus for a day by learning how to juggle balls, rings and clubs; spin plates; hula hoops and lots more. |

Local vendors will be on site with a wide variety of foods and beverages to satisfy every taste.
