BACKGROUND ... TO THE DAY

The Katikati Avocado Food and Wine Festival started life in 2003, as the Katikati Funfest.

In 2003 Pakeke Lions Club of Katikati initiated the annual Food and Wine Festival as a means of raising funds for local charities and established the Katikati FunFest Charitable Trust.  The first festival was held at the Uretara Domain in January 2004.

Historically the event has been run by 1000's of volunteer hours, amazingly donated to the cause.  It's certainly going to be a fantastic day.
